Our Team.
APEX Performance didn’t happen overnight. What many people see now is the result of years of coaching, educations, relationships, lessons, growth, and a vision that kept evolving over time.
Before APEX, we were known as Iowa Athletix. Iowa Athletix started with a simple goal: help athletes improve, build confidence, and create an environment where people genuinely felt supported. Over time, we realized this was becoming something much bigger than just training sessions or workouts. We weren’t just helping athletes become faster or stronger — we were building relationships, creating culture, and helping people believe in themselves again.
As things continued to grow, so did the vision.
That’s where APEX came from.
APEX represents the next evolution of what we wanted to build. We wanted something bigger, stronger, and more complete — a place where athletes, adults, and families could all walk through the doors and feel like they belonged. A place that combined high-level coaching, accountability, positivity, energy, and community all under one roof.
What makes APEX special to me is the people behind it.
Cassie, Devon, Anthony, and I all come from different backgrounds, but we all share the same passion for helping people improve. We all believe confidence is built through hard work, consistency, support, and relationships. Every owner brings something different to the table, and that’s what makes this team work so well together.
Cassie has always had an incredible ability to connect with athletes and families. Her energy, positivity, and passion for youth development help create the environment we want every athlete to experience. She cares deeply about making people feel welcomed, supported, and challenged in the right ways.
Devon brings an elite level of knowledge and experience in strength and performance training. From playing football at Wartburg College to becoming a national and world champion strongman, he understands what it takes to push limits and develop physically and mentally. What stands out most about Devon, though, is that his passion extends far beyond elite athletes. He genuinely cares about helping anyone improve, whether they’re 8 years old, 18 years old, or 80 years old.
Anthony brings leadership, discipline, and consistency to everything we do. Between athletics and military service, he understands accountability, teamwork, and what it means to show up every day with purpose. He’s someone athletes can trust, relate to, and learn from both inside and outside of training.
For me personally, everything I’ve done through coaching soccer, performance training, and athlete development has always pointed back to one thing: helping people become more confident in themselves. Whether it’s through soccer, speed training, strength development, or simply creating a positive environment, I want people to leave APEX feeling better than when they walked in.
At APEX, we care about results — but we care just as much about the experience, the culture, and the relationships being built along the way.
We want this to be a place where:
-
athletes learn discipline
-
adults regain confidence
-
kids fall in love with training
-
families feel welcomed
-
hard work is celebrated
-
people support one another
-
growth happens daily
This isn’t just a gym to us. It’s something we’ve poured ourselves into, and we’re excited to continue building it with the athletes, families, and community around us.

Message from Austin ~ Helping athletes and people build confidence, improve performance, and grow both physically and mentally has always been my passion. I graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and Luther College with a degree in Health & Fitness Promotion, and I’m also a certified Stress Management Specialist. I currently serve as an Assistant Coach for the women’s soccer program at Mount Mercy University and the Head Coach for Kennedy Girls Varsity Soccer. At APEX, my goal is to create a culture where athletes and adults feel challenged, supported, and motivated every time they walk through the doors.
Message from Cassie ~ I graduated from John F. Kennedy High School before continuing my soccer career at Western Illinois University to play at a D1 level. I later transferred to Mount Mercy University where I am currently playing and studying. Competing at a high level taught me the value of discipline, accountability, and pushing through challenges even when things get difficult. I pride myself on being welcoming, understanding, and creating an environment where every athlete feels comfortable, supported, and motivated no matter where they are starting from. Here at Apex, we will transform your athlete through hard work, consistency, and truly understanding what they need to improve, learn, and succeed both on and off the field.
Message from Devon ~ I believe growth comes from challenging yourself, staying consistent, and learning how to push past limits you once thought were impossible. I graduated from Washington High School and Wartburg College, where I played football and developed my passion for strength and athletic performance. At Wartburg I received my degree in Fitness Management. Over the years, I built a successful strongman career that included national and world championships in weight classes ranging from 175–200 pounds, while also coaching multiple athletes to podium finishes, including a world champion. My coaching passion extends far beyond competitive athletes. For over 10 years, I’ve worked with people from 8 years old to 80 years old, helping each person improve based on their own goals and abilities. Anyone on a mission to improve themselves will appreciate the balance of pressure and compassion I bring to coaching at APEX.
Message from Anthony ~ Creating a positive, hardworking, and accountable environment is something I take a lot of pride in every day at APEX. I graduated from John F. Kennedy High School and currently serve in our military. Athletics, discipline, and teamwork have played a huge role in shaping who I am today. At APEX, I’m passionate about helping athletes grow through hard work, accountability, and positive energy while creating an environment where people feel motivated and supported every time they train.
